Tram

The Tenerife Tram was designed to be accessible to all, regardless of physical abilities. To ensure that all residents of Tenerife- and every one of the millions of tourists that visit the island each year- may take full advantage of the tram, universal accessibility has been a top priority since the project’s inception, permeating all aspects from infrastructure and fixed installations- tram stops, equipment …- to rolling stock -the trams-.

Recently, AENOR certified that the Sistema de Gestión de la Accesibilidad Universal del Tranvía de Tenerife (Tenerife Tram Universal Accessibility Management System) meets UNE 170001:2007 standards. The Tenerife Tram is the first public transportation system -including all means of public transportation: trucking, rail, air, maritime…-to offer certified universal accessibility throughout all phases of service: from providing information to selling tickets to transporting passengers.

Accessibility Aenor

The Tenerife Tram currently transports 14 million passengers each year on its two lines. Line 1 includes 21 stops and runs between the transport interchange at Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Trinidad in S. Cristóbal de La Laguna. Line 2, which connects the towns of La Cuesta and Tíncer, includes 6 stops, two of which intersect with Line 1.
