The Museum of Nature and Mankind receives the certification of Universal Accessibility
December 10, 2012
The Museum of Nature and Mankind, attached to the Island Authority, with the aid and advice of Sinpromi, has just received the Universal Accessibility Certification, which is granted by AENOR, and is one of the first Spanish museums to obtain the certification, which had up till now only been granted to the privately-owned Guggenheim in Bilbao.
Sinpromi, via the TAMAC project, for the Development of Accessible Holiday Destinations in Macaronesia, has made consulting simpler so as to achieve this certification, which guarantees that the surroundings and services of the Museum are accessible to everybody.
In the year 2009, Sinpromi carried out the Accessible Museums in Tenerife project, taking a further step towards achieving spaces designed for all persons, guaranteeing the fundamental right to enjoy culture and art.
