Spring weatherTenerife is located in the transition zone between subtropical and temperate climates. The island benefits from the Cold Canary Current, which greatly improves climatic conditions, and also from the refreshing trade winds that are so highly prized by navigators. Thanks to its pleasant climate, Tenerife is a wonderful place to visit year round. With a mean annual temperature of 23 °C and few extremes in temperature, it’s always spring in Tenerife!

Tenerife offers something for everyone and a variety of microclimates can be found on the island, with surprising differences in temperature within relatively short distances. Thus, the south is drier, hotter, and enjoys more sunshine, while the north is more humid and offers a milder climate.

There are more surprises in store at La Laguna, the second most populous city on the island. Located some 550 m above sea level, the city enjoys considerably cooler temperatures. Rising 3,718 m above sea level, Teide’s summit is part of the high mountain climatic zone. Those traveling to Tenerife should pack a coat just in case.
